The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) reports that annually, 3.1 million dogs find themselves in shelters across the United States, with around 2 million getting adopted. However, a staggering 390,000 are euthanized each year. Adira’s fate could have mirrored this grim statistic if not for the intervention of Valentine’s Second Chance Animal Rescue.
